Abstract

Active Places NI is a single database that holds information on sports facilities throughout NI. It covers information for the following sports facility types: athletics, bowling (stadium), bowling (outdoor), boxing, cricket, driving circuits, equestrian, golf, health and fitness, ice rink, outdoor courts, pitches (grass and artificial), pools (swimming and diving), sports halls, squash, tennis and water sports.  It includes district council leisure facilities, school sports facilities, commercial and club sites.

Data was originally created from datasets developed in conjunction with the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA).
